CHARLES LLOYD GUSTA M.Sc M.E. The family of Charles Lloyd Gusta is deeply saddened to announce his passing on September 19, 2007. Lloyd was born on July 18, 1939 in Selkirk, Manitoba. He is survived by his sister Evelyn Alexander of Oakville, ON; brothers, Edward (Iona) of Stead, MB and Lawrence (Elaine) of Saskatoon, SK; nieces and nephews, Glen (April), Kirk, Andrea and Michael; and great-niece Kailey Gusta. He was predeceased by his father Michael (2004), mother Winnifred (2005) and brother-in-law Charles Alexander (1993). He was a gentle, kindhearted man with great loyalty to family and friends. You could not have a more compassionate, honest, loyal friend. People were always important to Lloyd especially the underprivileged. He had a tremendous quest for knowledge. He attended high school in Selkirk and then University of Manitoba where he obtained his Bachelors and Masters degrees in mechanical engineering. Lloyd was instrumental in successfully designing the first four wheel drive tractor for Versatile Mfg. that revolutionized agriculture. In 1980, he started a manufacturing company called Prairie Gear to design and manufacture gear boxes. His most recent innovation was investigating new methodology for extracting oil. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
